Disabled overnight

The forum has been disabled overnight to allow for another go at migrating to phpbb3.

DB resolution

No official word on cause, but the db issue seems patched up.

DB problems

A support ticket has been created for our database problems. First noted 8:50 am, support ticket just issued (as that was when I next woke up to discern it was not a transient failure).

Forum restored. Function of this blog nominally at an end.

It looks as if I've coerced the database over, and gotten it to play with the install. Now to upgrade from 2.0.21 to 2.0.22, pull the old avatars over, set the avatar permissions... and that should be all.

OK, so here's where I am at. The forum database is too large to use the restore function with, so I'm having to fuss with a trick where I make a seperate install of phpmyadmin and tell it to import from a directory on localhost. Sadly, the instructions I have for this seem to be for an old version of phpmyadmin. Once that's sorted out, we'll see how changing mysql versions between hosts has gone.

phpbb installed without trouble, but session is timing out on backup restore. Must find way around that. Grrr.
